LOS ANGELES – A man was in the hospital Friday after he was shot in the arm during a confrontation with an assailant in downtown Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded at 9:50 p.m. Thursday to Fifth Street and Central Avenue near Skid Row where a witness told them they were walking on Fifth with the victim when the suspect approached them and began arguing with the victim, according to an LAPD spokesman.
At some point, the suspect drew a handgun and shot the victim before running from the scene, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.
