LOS ANGELES – A man was fatally wounded while trying to run from two assailants in a Gramercy Park neighborhood in Los Angeles, authorities said Monday.
The shooting occurred at 4:50 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of West 87th Street at Denker Avenue, said a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The 31-year-old man was standing outside a residence when two suspects approached in a vehicle and fired shots at him, the officer said. The victim ran and the suspects got out of the vehicle and chased him, firing shots until he was mortally wounded.
Paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, said the officer.
