LOS ANGELES – A man was detained after stealing a Caltrans vehicle early Wednesday morning in the Pico-Union area of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the intersection near Pico Blvd. and Menlo Ave. after receiving reports a man stole a worker’s vehicle around 3:00 a.m.
The male suspect stole the CalTrans truck at the 10 freeway near Vermont and fled the location.
According to videographers at the scene, CalTrans crews chased the suspect in their vehicle to the intersection of W Pico Blvd & Menlo Ave where they blocked him in with their vehicles.
LAPD responded to the location and the suspect was immediately detained
