I’m curious about what will become of the fact that text messages prove that Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. performed the classwork of his then girlfriend/executive assistant Melanie McDade in order for her to earn a degree that would increased her compensation.
He personally knew she didn’t earn her degree yet voted in favor of increasing her salary and providing raises, using her degree as justification in this Daily Breeze article, under multiple revisions to the City’s Salary Ordinance would indicate he had direct knowledge in awarding her taxpayer funds.
Marvin McCoy filed a complaint with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office calling McDade’s salary a “gift” of taxpayers funds which DA George Gascon rejected.
Shouldn’t the matter be reopened know that we have PROOF that Butts assisted in cheating taxpayers out of money? If six NorCal police officers are currently facing prison for hiring people to complete their coursework to earn a degree, in order to pad their salaries, shouldn’t Butts and McDade face similar? I mean, they did admit to doing it.
