SANTA CLARITA – A homeless man is credited with assisting in the rescue of a driver who was ejected from their vehicle in an early morning crash in Santa Clarita.
Two people were rescued after a vehicle plunged off a Santa Clarita roadway and landed on the driver who was ejected. Two sheriff’s deputies worked with the vehicle’s passenger and a homeless man to lift the car off the driver, according to a deputy at the scene.
The incident occurred at about 12:25 a.m. at the intersection of Via Princessa and Whites Canyon Road when a white sedan left the roadway and broke through a guardrail before traveling 100 feet off the end of Via Princessa, landing on an embankment.
Firefighters and EMTs worked to bring the two people up. The driver was brought up via a litter basket.
The driver was rushed to a trauma center in unknown condition.
The crash is under investigation by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
