NEW YORK – A newly filed lawsuit against Bad Boy executive Sean “Diddy” Combs reveals that high-profile entertainment artists witnessed abuse by the embattled star during an evening out.
Dawn Richards, who was a former member of the group Danity Kane on the Bad Boy recording label, filed a lawsuit against Diddy alleging abuse.
In the 55-page document, she alleges that during dinner she witnessed Diddy “punch Cassie during dinner with Jimmy Iovine, Ne-Yo, and Usher who continued to eat” while it happened.
“In front of dinner guests, Mr. Combs hissed at Ms. [Cassie] Ventura in a screaming whisper and forcefully punched her in the stomach causing her to double over in pain and cry…Mr. Combs continued socializing with guests…Interscope Records had actual knowledge that Combs was dangerous around females and that Combs was willing to brazenly batter a female in public.”
“Even after Mr. Iovine watched Mr. Combs commit a violent assault in front of several high-profile witnesses, the Bad Boy-Interscope deal took place and remained in effect, providing Mr. Combs with immense financial rewards…”
Cassie accused Diddy of a slew of sexual abuse-related charges that were quietly settled in an undisclosed amount days after a lawsuit she filed became public.
Iovine has partnered with rap mogul Dr. Dre to invest in underserved youth’s education through sponsoring education academies at local schools in the Inglewood and Los Angeles Unified School Districts.
