POMONA – A motorist behind the wheel of a vehicle that struck and killed a woman in Pomona later turned himself in to police, authorities said Saturday.
Officers dispatched at about 9:55 p.m. Friday to the area of Mission Boulevard and Myrtle Avenue located the woman in the roadway suffering from severe injuries, the Pomona Police Department reported.
Arriving paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
“The driver of the involved vehicle had left the location, but later turned themselves in to the Pomona Police Department,” according to a police statement. “Officers from the Traffic Services Bureau are currently investigating this incident and speaking with the involved driver.”
