California lawmakers on Tuesday night quietly passed a bill that will flex state law by allowing alcohol sales inside of a club in the future arena of the Los Angeles Clippers until 4 a.m.
The bill, AB 3206, will only allow that very early morning sale of alcohol inside of a small club in the new Intuit Dome arena in Inglewood. That club is expected to have a maximum capacity of 100 people in the arena that seats 18,000. The Clippers are set to start playing in the new arena in the upcoming NBA season.
State law generally prohibits alcohol sales anywhere between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Lawmakers in the State Senate debated the bill for about five minutes before approving it with theĀ minimum amount of votes needed 21-14 with five lawmakers abstaining from the vote.

Apparently the lawmakers who wrote and voted for this new change believe the elite are somehow immune to the impacts of alcohol -or- they believe that the potential loss suffered by those impacted by these elite driving in our streets while intoxicated is not important compared to the pleasure of the select few.
Again Gavin Newsome has shown he believes that rich need not and adhere to the same standards as the not elite rich. (Remember the general public could not gather during covid but he joined his friends at the French Laundry for dinner.)
Perhaps whenever Gavin runs for another elected position we should make certain that his abuse of privilege should give him the opportunity to experience non-election.
As for our elected Assembly person who inconsideratly pushed this through the legislature…..both Tina McKinnor and Steve Bradford should also find their unresponsive to community resident safety a truth that follows them wherever they go.
As the layers of this oninion continue to be peeled it appears that Autumn Burke’s abrupt departure from her elected seat, to work for consultants hired by Ballmer to lobby for this bill leads me to believe Burke was the nexus to Asm. Tina McKinnor “writing” and sponsoring this bill.
