LOS ANGELES – Thieves made off with an ATM machine that was bolted to the ground early this morning in downtown Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Police Department officers with the Central Division responded to a call from the owner of a parking lot at the corner of 12th St and Broadway reporting that thieves had stolen his ATM machine that was permanently mounted to the ground.
The suspects used the liftgate from their box truck to pull the ATM out of the ground and fled the scene.
Officers quickly located the box truck in the 1500 block of Essex St.
One of the suspects fled on a bicycle stolen from a transient and was taken into custody nearby.
