IRVINE – A man who allegedly stabbed a woman to death in Irvine was fatally shot by police responding to the attack Thursday.
Police were dispatched at 2:51 p.m. Thursday to reports of a man attacking a woman on Green Tree Lane near Royce Road, said Kyle Oldoerp of the Irvine Police Department.
As officers arrived, they saw the suspect apparently stabbing the woman on the street, and it led to police shooting him, Oldoerp said.
The victim and the suspect were both pronounced dead at the scene, Oldoerp said. The relationship between the two was unclear.
