“I never truly found a place where I felt a sense of belonging until I stumbled upon Compton College,” says Dennis Masias, a Compton College alumnus who earned a bachelor’s degree at California State University, Fullerton and is now employed at Compton College as the MESA/STEM Center program coordinator. “It’s a place I got to go and could be myself. Faculty and staff saw potential in me that I didn’t see. I believe Compton College is a great starting point for any student. I have built so much on that foundation since first setting foot on campus.”
Enrolled students have access to a complete menu of support services to help them succeed. Compton College provides financial, academic, and technical support for those in need such as financial aid, tutoring, book vouchers, free Metro GoPass for transportation, free laptop computer and Wi-fi hotspot loans, free parking permits, one free meal per day from the Everytable Café on campus, $20 per week in Farmers’ Market vouchers, and referrals for those with food and housing insecurity.
