LOS ANGELES – The Jenesse Center, a leader in domestic violence prevention and intervention, proudly announces the recent appointments of Dr. Charmine Davis and Yasmin Tarver to prominent roles within the community.

Dr. Charmine Davis, Clinical Psychologist at Jenesse Center, has been appointed to the Domestic Violence Program Advisory Council (DVAC). With a Doctor of Psychology in Applied Clinical Psychology, Dr. Davis brings extensive experience as a licensed marriage and family therapist, specializing in African American Family Studies. She has been instrumental in her role as the Director of Family Wellness at Jenesse Center since 2015 and is the founder of The Just Us Mobile App, aimed at supporting family wellness. The mission of the Domestic Violence Advisory Council (DVAC) is to collaborate with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) to ensure the safety and security of all domestic violence victims through the development of policies, procedures, and priorities that promote effective and accessible services for victims.
Ms. Yasmin Tarver, currently serving as the Director of Workforce Development at Jenesse Center, has been appointed as a Community Partner of the Violence Against Women and Girls Committee of the Los Angeles County Commission on Women. Yasmin has over 25 years of experience advocating for underserved communities and has been a driving force behind initiatives in vocational education, employment, health education, and housing for victims and survivors of domestic violence.
The Los Angeles County Commission for Women seeks to represent the interests and concerns of women of all races, ethnic and social backgrounds, religious convictions, sexual orientations, and social circumstances. The Commission is mandated to advise the Board of Supervisors, County departments, and agencies on the needs of women and matters relating to discrimination and prejudice on account of sex, marital status, and sexual orientation. It also recommends programs or legislation to promote and ensure equal rights and opportunities for women, researches and investigates conditions that allegedly discriminate against women, and disseminates the results of investigations. Additionally, the Commission provides a coordinating function for County departments, community groups, and organizations concerned with women’s rights.
These appointments highlight the significant impact both Dr. Davis and Ms. Tarver have had in their respective fields and underscore Jenesse Center’s commitment to leadership in domestic violence prevention and advocacy.
