LONG BEACH – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Long Beach, police said Thursday.
Officers were sent to Anaheim Street and Cherry Avenue about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered a motorcycle had collided into the front of a business located on the southwest corner of the intersection,” an LBPD statement said. “Long Beach Fire Department personnel were already on scene and determined the motorcyclist deceased.”
Information on the man’s identity was not immediately available.
“The preliminary investigation indicates the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Cherry Avenue and crossed through the intersection of Anaheim Street,” police said. “The motorcycle drove over the curb on the southwest corner of the intersection and collided with a light pole and a business. No other vehicles were involved. At this time, speed is being investigated as a factor in the collision.”
