CHATSWORTH – A suspect who allegedly shot a man with a pellet gun while the victim was pumping gas at a Northridge fuel station was charged Thursday with attempted murder.
Joshua Steven Morales, 32, allegedly approached the victim — who he did not know — and shot him in the back of the head at the station in the 19300 block of Parthenia Street around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday, according to police and prosecutors.
The victim, who was not identified, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
It was unclear what motivated the shooting.
“No one should ever have to worry about being randomly attacked while simply going about their daily lives,” District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement. “This cowardly act of violence is shocking and unacceptable.”
Morales was being held without bail, according to jail records.
