2UrbanGirls,
As you know Wanda Brown is the longest-serving elected official in the city of Inglewood having been the city treasurer for nearly 40 years. It was brought to my attention that she has NOT returned her nomination papers to run in the upcoming November election.
This means City Clerk Aisha Thompson must extend the filing deadline by FIVE CALENDAR DAYS for the treasurer’s seat considering the incumbent didn’t turn in their forms.
Do you think City Hall already has a preferred candidate? I’m told THEY DO!

*Editor’s note: The nomination period for Inglewood elections was Friday, August 9. Candidates have been notified they have qualified for the ballot with the only candidate pulling a challenger, at this time, is District 4 Councilwoman Dionne Faulk. A Public Records Request was initiated to confirm whether Brown returned her forms and/or to what date the filing period will be extended for interested persons to pull nomination forms to run for city treasurer yielded a standard response from the City Clerk’s office:
“Your request has been received. Please be advised that the department has 10 days to respond. If additional time is needed, responding can take an extra 14 days. The request could take a total of 24 days.”
If you are interested in running for city treasurer you can schedule an appointment to pickup nomination forms at the city clerk’s by calling 310-412-5280.
