MISSION HILLS – One person was killed after a vehicle drove off a freeway near Mission Hills and into the backyard of a residence, authorities said Tuesday.
The crash was reported at 11:04 p.m. Monday and California Highway Patrol officers were called to 10731 N. Burnet Ave. where they found the driver had been ejected in the crash, according to CHP Officer Sean Lough.
During their investigation, CHP officers learned the vehicle drove off the freeway near the San Diego (405) Freeway and the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway.
It was unknown if the victim died at the scene or at a hospital.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
