LYNWOOD – The family of a Hawthorne killed by a driver on the 105 freeway have established a GoFundMe fundraiser to assist her two children.
“My sister was in a fatal accident that took her life and the opportunity to see her two girls grow up,” reads the fundraiser. “We are reaching out to get any support to help fund her funeral expenses and whatever money is left over will help her girls in their new lifestyle.”
The woman was later identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Erica Pleasant, 28.
A multi-vehicle collision on the transition road between the Long Beach (710) Freeway and the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway in Lynwood last Thursday.
The collision was reported at 1:43 a.m. Thursday. California Highway Patrol officers responded to the transition between the southbound 710 and eastbound 105, where they found the pedestrian in the slow lane along with the damaged vehicles, according to CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig.
The CHP contacted Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel, who arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene.
