SANTA CLARITA – One person was killed and three others injured after an off-road vehicle ran off the road, flipped over and slid down an embankment near Santa Clarita, authorities said Friday.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at 10:22 p.m. Thursday to Rowher Canyon Road and Sierra Highway where they found the vehicle in a dark area down the embankment, according to CHP Officer A. De Los Reyes.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to the crash scene and pronounced one of the vehicle’s occupants dead, De Los Reyes said.
Search and rescue teams were called to bring the vehicle and the victim up from the embankment.
Three other occupants were found inside the vehicle, but their conditions were not immediately known.
