LOS ANGELES – A 48-year-old woman was killed Monday morning when she was struck by a vehicle whose driver left the scene in the Florence area of Los Angeles.
The crash occurred at 1:11 a.m. at 219 W. Gage Ave., according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The vehicle was westbound on Gage Avenue when it struck the woman who was in the roadway, the officer said.
The driver failed to stop and render assistance, he said.
Paramedics rushed the woman to a hospital but she died there, the officer said. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
A standing reward of up to $50,000 has been offered by the city of Los Angeles for information that helps solve a fatal hit and run.
