LONG BEACH – Three men were arrested in connection with the March killing of a street vendor who was wounded by apparent stray gunfire in a gang-related shooting in Long Beach, authorities said Monday.

Yener Ramirez-Miranda, 37, was shot around 4 p.m. March 20 in the 100 block of East Eagle Street, and he died at a hospital, according to the Long Beach Police Department and the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
“Through their ongoing investigation and use of security camera footage, Homicide detectives were able to identify three suspects who were present at the time of the shooting,” police said in a statement Monday.
“In collaboration with detectives from the Special Investigations Division, LBPD SWAT Team, and the Huntington Beach Police Department SWAT Team, homicide detectives located the three suspects and safely arrested them.”
The suspects were identified as:
— Rahman Snook Abdallah, 19, of Long Beach, booked on suspicion of murder. Abdallah was arrested Thursday in Long Beach. Bail was set at $2 million.
— Raylon Deshawn Akers, 23, of Los Angeles, booked on suspicion of murder. Akers was arrested Thursday in Long Beach. Bail was set at $2 million.
— James Arthur Havlicheck Jr., 33, of Lakewood, booked on suspicion of accessory to murder. Havlicheck was arrested Friday in Los Angeles. Bail was set at $1 million.
“Mr. Ramirez-Miranda is the victim of unacceptable gang-related gun violence,” LBPD Chief Wally Hebeish said. “I believe these arrests demonstrate that our department will never stop working with and for our community. We remain dedicated to our community’s safety and to holding individuals accountable for their crimes.”
Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson called the victim “a beloved member of the Long Beach community.”
“Safety takes all of us and gun violence is not tolerated in our city,” he said. “As a city, we are committed to disrupting this cycle of gang-related violence and to keeping everyone safe.”
During the arrests, officers recovered multiple firearms, police said. Detectives served search warrants in the cities of Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Lakewood, and Los Angeles.
Homicide detectives believe the suspects “fired shots at subjects they believed to be rival gang members,” police said in a statement.
“Victim Ramirez-Miranda was an innocent bystander and not involved in gang activity,” police said. “Each of the suspects is a gang member and prohibited possessor.”
Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office this week for consideration of criminal charges.
