A 49-year-old man was found shot to death in a vehicle in Compton before dawn Wednesday.
Deputies were sent to the 700 block of West 131st Street, near Wilmington Avenue, at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday on a “call for service of a person down inside a vehicle,” according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“Upon arrival, the deputies saw the vehicle on the side of the street oddly parked,” the sheriff’s department said in a statement. “Inside the vehicle, in the driver’s seat, they found a male … adult, unresponsive, with gunshot wounds.”
The man, who died at the scene, was later identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as Miguel Gonzalez Valencia.
No arrests were reported, and no suspect description was available.
