LANCASTER – A teen was shot to death inside a smoke shop in Lancaster Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department Lancaster Station responded to a call for service at a local business in the 1400 block of West Avenue I around 3:30 p.m.
The caller stated that a robbery was in progress and at least one person was down with unknown injuries.
Upon arrival, deputies located a male adult suffering from at least one gunshot wound as a result of the reported robbery attempt.
On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the victim as George Peter Al Hawara, 18, of Lancaster.
According to authorities, two black male adults entered the store and were involved in a fight with the victim, during which time one of the suspects pulled out a firearm and shot the victim. The suspects were last seen fleeing the location on foot.
The teen was confirmed by his father and business owner that it was his son who had just relieved his mother from that same store 15 minutes prior to this incident.
