The family of Raejonette Morgan, who was fatally shot last week in what is believed to be a gang-related incident, is calling for a comprehensive investigation into her death.
Raejonette, 22, was an alumnus of Inglewood High School and a dedicated college student studying criminal justice at Los Angeles City College, with dreams of becoming a lawyer. It is believed that Raejonette was not a gang member and that her death was a tragic case of mistaken identity.
Raejonette was a bright and ambitious young woman whose life was tragically cut short. She had a passion for justice and aspired to make a difference in her community by pursuing a career in law. Her commitment to her studies and her community has left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
In the wake of this devastating loss, we, the family, are urging the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department (LASD) to expedite their investigation and address what we perceive to be a slow response to the incident. Raejonette deserved better. We need answers and justice for Raejonette. We call upon the LASD to thoroughly investigate her death, identify the suspects, and ensure they are brought to trial.
We are deeply concerned about the circumstances surrounding Raejonette’s death and believe that a prompt and diligent investigation is crucial. We appeal to the community and local authorities to assist in any way possible to bring those responsible to justice and to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
A memorial service for Raejonette Morgan is currently being planned, where family and friends will gather to honor her life and legacy. We request privacy during this difficult time but remain committed to seeking justice for Raejonette.
