CARSON – A woman was shot and killed in Carson Monday afternoon, hours after a man was fatally shot to death.
Investigators responded to the 20000 block of Hillford Avenue, near Central Avenue and Del Amo Boulevard, around 4:30 p.m. Monday regarding a shooting death investigation involving a woman, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she later died. Her name was being withheld by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner pending notification of relatives.
It was unclear what motivated the shooting. There was no description of a suspect.
Hours earlier, investigators responded to a reported shooting around 12:20 p.m. in the 500 block of East Fairhaven Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Upon arrival, deputies located the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. It was unclear what motivated the shooting, and there was no description of a suspect immediately available.
Authorities have not suggested the fatal shootings are connected.
