LONG BEACH – A Los Angeles man was in custody Tuesday for allegedly killing a woman he was dating in Long Beach, authorities said.
Timothy Campbell, 35, was arrested Monday in the shooting death of Myriam Zaragoza, 43, who was found wounded on June 19 at about 3:25 p.m. in the 2300 block of Locust Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
She died at the scene.
Campbell was booked on suspicion of murder and was being held on $2 million bail, according to the LBPD and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“Detectives determined the victim and suspect were in a dating relationship,” police said in a statement. “The motive is still under investigation; however, the incident is believed to be domestic violence.”
Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
