Why isn’t the city of Inglewood letting the citizens of Inglewood know about the increase in crime in the City?
The latest headline the Inglewood Police Department didn’t alert the public about is a man nearly having his arm cut off by a machete-wielding psycho who robbed him after attending the Janet Jackson concert.
I saw the Hawthorne and Inglewood police cars racing down Manchester but couldn’t find out what happened.
Now it turns out we aren’t safe leaving a concert? You just wrote about Mayor Butts and Police Chief Mark Fronterotta keeping residents safe yet here is an example that they are willing to suppress crime rather than keep us informed and that’s not good with elections around the corner.

If the past gives a hint…The Mayor may say this is another made up story, perhaps blame the victim, or say if we consider only one of the attendees claimed there was an issue so overall it was a successful concert.
As a resident, my prayers are with Mr Oneil, to those who jumped in to render assistance we should all be grateful for you courage and compassion. And to the attackers may you experience the fear and uncertainty you have inflicted on others.
Omg who really thinks the Mayor and Silent Cheif are keeping anything safe? Oh wait there is that one thing
their continued income. Yep that is very safe.
Put this set of realities in your brain an let them roll around.
The Mayor who is a former Police Chief (we assume has some self defense training) has a large body both height and weight- often wears too tight shirts which show off his biceps, has (we can assume) a firearm permit, and feels so safe WE PAY for him to have a BODY GUARD and we pay dearly for the entire city hall building except where you pay bills under security as intense as if you were boarding an international flight.
If the Mayor doesn’t walk the streets alone or sit in an office building without guards and the Police Station is often inaccessible …..yeah, your family might want to have that “where do you keep your will” chat with you….
Basically the Mayor’s talk just doesn’t match his walk.
As for burglary and theft consider between pensions, and salary and benefits many our city employees are among the top 10% income bracket in the U.S.
If you think that is an exaggeration…see
Transparent California but only if you are sitting.
Remember the extra police contracts for stadium “events” are paid by residents to protect tourists.
Have a nice stroll.
