LOS ANGELES – A 36-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting in South Los Angeles Friday and taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
Officers responded to the intersection of 27th and San Pedro streets around 4:35 p.m. Friday regarding a report of shots fired, where several suspects approached the victim in their vehicle and began shooting the man from the passenger seat, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Drake Madison said.
The victim was taken to the hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, with the extent of his injuries unknown. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
There was no description of the suspects involved in the assault.
Madison said investigators have not determined if the shooting was gang-related.
