LANCASTER – Authorities are investigating a baby’s death Sunday morning.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies with the Lancaster Station aided distraught parents who called 911 to report their baby as being unresponsive around 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Avenue J8 and Fine Street.
While the parents attempted to self-transport the baby, those efforts were unsuccessful.
Tragically, paramedics pronounced the baby deceased at the scene.
The coroner was observed arriving at the scene around 2:30 p.m. to retrieve the baby’s body, which was still on the sidewalk.
The circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident are currently unknown and under investigation.
