LOS ANGELES – Authorities Tuesday identified a man who was fatally shot in the Crenshaw District.
Officers responded to the intersection of 47th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard around 1 p.m. Monday, initially on a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
They discovered a man suffering from apparent gunshot injuries, police said.
Fletcher Hicklen, 59, of Los Angeles died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
It was unclear what motivated the shooting, and there was no description of a suspect. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call 877-LAPD-247.
