LANCASTER – A woman who was hit by a vehicle and killed in the Lancaster area was identified Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Brittany Brown, 30, by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s office.
Deputies were sent to 15th Street East and Avenue I at about 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
“Preliminary investigation indicates a … sedan was traveling west on Avenue I and struck a pedestrian who was walking west on the bicycle lane,” a sheriff’s department statement said.
“The pedestrian suffered major trauma and was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. It is unknown if speed was a factor in this crash and the intoxication of the driver of the vehicle is still under investigation.”
