INGLEWOOD – Two brothers have been identified as victims of a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Playa del Rey on June 4.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified David Ceja, 17, who was pronounced deceased at the scene, and Hector Ceja Jr., 15, who died at a local hospital from his injuries.
Both attended Morningside High School with David scheduled to graduate tomorrow.
Firefighters were sent to the 8800 block of Vista Del Mar, near Dockweiler State Beach, around 7:55 p.m. to investigate a collision involving five individuals, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Upon further evaluation, firefighters discovered two trapped individuals who required rescuing.
Three victims were taken to a hospital in critical condition, while a fourth victim was taken to a hospital listed in fair condition.
The surviving victims were identified as two women, ages 18 and 30.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
