CHINO – Two people were reportedly killed in a plane crash Saturday afternoon.
Chino Police Department officers and fire department personnel responded to reports of a plane crash at 7000 Merrill Ave. around 12:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, they located a twin-engine plane on fire at the end of the airport runway.
According to Champion Newspapers, the two on board were a pilot and a mechanic.
The crash reportedly occurred shortly after takeoff.
The plane is described as a World War II-era plane during the Yanks Air Museum “Pops & Props” Father’s Day event.
The crash is under investigation by the FAA and the NTSB.
Their identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
