LONG BEACH – A police pursuit ended in a fiery crash that left five injured Monday night.
Long Beach Police Department officers were in surveillance mode of a pursuit suspect when the vehicle collided with a semi on the 710 North near the Anaheim Street Exit, shortly before 10:30 p.m.
Long Beach Fire Department responded to the scene to render aid to four patients who were injured in the crash, while one was still trapped in the fiery wreck.
Upon arrival, the trapped patient was able to self-extricate themselves from the car and CPR had to be rendered to another victim.
The driver of the semi was treated for scratches due to the collision but sustained no life-threatening wounds.
