SAN PEDRO – A man’s body has been recovered after washing ashore Saturday afternoon.

Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a citizen reporting a male suffering from obvious fatal injuries that floated ashore in Point Fermin Park, located on the 800 block of Paseo Del Mar, shortly after 12:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, LAFD located a male victim, not conscious and not breathing. They pronounced the patient deceased on arrival.
LAFD Urban Search and Rescue team had to hoist the patient along the cliff which is over a 100-foot drop.
The citizen who reported the incident to first responders, told reporters that she witnessed the body wash ashore.
According to LAPD Media Relations, the investigation is in progress and there is no official confirmation on a cause of death.
Their identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
