LOS ANGELES – A police officer was injured by a suspected drunk driver late Monday night in Echo Park.
Los Angeles Police Department officers in the Northeast Division were in the process of impounding a vehicle on Stadium Way at Lilac Terrace when another vehicle struck it around 11:30 p.m.
Officers requested backup for assistance after taking the driver into custody on suspicion of DUI.
At least one officer was transported to the hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics for injuries sustained during the incident.
