LOS ANGELES – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Echo Park and Wednesday police are searching for the driver, who drove away from the scene without stopping to render aid.
Los Angeles Police Department officers from the department’s Rampart Division responded to Sunset Boulevard and Boylston Street at around 1:45 a.m. where they found the 53-year-old man in the roadway, according to an LAPD spokesman.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
There was no suspect description.
A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the suspect’s identification, arrest, and conviction.
