LANCASTER – Authorities Tuesday sought the public’s help to find the hit-and-run motorist involved in fatally injuring a motorcyclist in Lancaster.
Deputies were sent to Avenue K, east of 42nd Street West, at about 9:40 p.m. Monday, according to Detective Ryan Ament of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster station.
“Preliminary investigation indicates a male adult was ejected from his motorcycle for an unknown reason,” Ament said.
“The male adult was ejected into the eastbound lane of travel of Avenue K and was subsequently struck by an unknown white sedan,” Ament said. “The driver of the white sedan did not stop and fled the scene.”
Information was not immediately available on the identity of the injured man, who died at a hospital.
Anyone with information on the case was urged to call traffic investigators at 661-948-8466.
