LOS ANGELES – A boy was shot and killed Monday about one-third of a mile west of George Washington Preparatory High School following multiple fights.
A person of interested was detained, according to the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Deputies responded to the 10800 block of Western Avenue in the unincorporated Westmont area around 3:50 p.m. to reports regarding shots fired, authorities said.
The boy was taken to a hospital where he died, authorities said.
It was unclear if the shooting was gang-related.
