GARDEN GROVE – Authorities Wednesday identified a motorcyclist who died following a collision with a garbage truck in Garden Grove.
Stephen Douglas Sanders, 56, of Anaheim, sustained fatal injuries in a collision with a garbage truck just after 1 p.m. Tuesday in the 11700 block of Western Avenue, authorities said.
The driver of the refuse truck stayed on scene and helped investigators, police said. Sanders, who was riding a 2023 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was taken to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police do not suspect alcohol or drugs contributed to the cause of the crash. Anyone who saw the collision and can help investigators better determine the cause are asked to call 714-741-5772 or email [email protected].
