EL MONTE – A teen was hospitalized after being shot on a local freeway late Wednesday evening.
California Highway Patrol officers with the East Los Angeles and Central station responded to the Greater El Monte Community Hospital at 1701 Santa Anita Ave where a 17-year-old was transported after being shot while driving on the eastbound 10 freeway around 11:00 p.m.
The victim was then transported by ambulance to County USC Hospital in an unknown condition.
According to radio traffic, the shooting occurred somewhere near the eastbound 10 freeway between the 710 and 60 freeway transition.
The victim’s white pickup truck had multiple bullet holes in it.
The shooting remains under investigation and there are no known suspects at this time.
