LONG BEACH – Five people have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in November in Long Beach, authorities said Friday.
Andre McClendon, 41, of Long Beach was shot on Nov. 26 about 2:20 am. near the 1700 block of Pine Avenue, and he died at the scene, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
“While the investigation remains ongoing, at this time, homicide detectives believe the motive to be gang related,” the LBPD said in a statement.
On Thursday, detectives served warrants in Long Beach, Compton and Lancaster and arrested three men and two women, police said. The arrests were as follows:
— Jose Ramos, 20, of Lancaster, was arrested at a residence in Compton. He was booked on suspicion of murder, and was being held on $2 million bail.
— Adonis Reese, 18, of Long Beach, was arrested at his residence. He was booked on suspicion of murder, and was being held on $2 million bail.
— Joshua Spencer-Morgan, 20, of Long Beach, was arrested at his residence. He was booked on suspicion of murder and was being held on $2 million bail.
— Emily Castaneda, 20, of Compton, was arrested at her residence. She was booked on suspicion of accessory to murder and arson, and was being held on $50,000 bail.
— Angelica Esquivel, 24, of Long Beach, was arrested at her residence. She was booked on suspicion of accessory to murder and arson, and was being held on $50,000 bail.
Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration next week, police said.
