LOS ANGELES – Authorities Monday released the name of the second man killed in the crash of a vehicle that went off the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway and crashed into a tree near the unincorporated Athens area.
That man was identified as Daniel Alberto Majano, of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner reported.
California Highway Patrol officers responded at 2:26 a.m. Friday to the eastbound freeway and Normandie Avenue where they found Majano and Jonathan Pena Langarcia, 20, according to CHP Officer Sergio Garcia.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Fox11, witnesses said a white sedan had been racing with the victims before the crash and drove away down the 105 Freeway without stopping.
Witnesses said the vehicle that crashed split in two when it slammed into the tree.
