CARSON – One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision between a big rig and a black sedan near the Carson Weigh Station in Carson, authorities said Saturday.
California Highway Patrol officers were called at around 11:24 p.m. Friday to the northbound San Diego (405) Freeway near the weigh station between Avalon Boulevard and Main Street where they found the victim, according to CHP Officer Sergio Garcia.
The sedan was found wedged underneath the semi trailer and both were blocking the right two lanes of the freeway.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The CHP issued a SigAlert for the closure of one lane of the northbound freeway while it conducted an investigation of the collision.
