CHATSWORTH – A 23-year-old man was killed Monday when he was impaled by lumber that flew through the cab of a truck on the westbound Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway in Chatsworth, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported about 8:50 a.m. near Topanga Canyon Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Manuel Camacho Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
Some lanes were blocked in the area, and traffic was snarled for miles while an investigation was conducted. All lanes were reopened about 12:15 p.m., the CHP reported.
