While millions of people vie for tonight’s giant Powerball jackpot, the California Lottery wants to get the word out about a multimillion-dollar winning Powerball ticket that’s about to expire!
One ticket sold in California for the July 8th Powerball draw matched five correct numbers, earning a $2.6 million prize. That ticket came from the Quik Stop at 4707 Quail Lakes Drive in Stockton.
The ticket’s winning numbers were 24, 7, 32, 23, 43, missing just the Powerball 18. The ticket will expire January 4, 2024. Anyone hanging onto it has several options for how to claim their prize by this Thursday.
In California, any Powerball prizes outside of the jackpot must be claimed within 180 days from the draw. Jackpot-winners have a full year to come forward. Any unclaimed prize money in California becomes additional funding for public education. More than $1 billion in prize funds have gone unclaimed in California since the Lottery began nearly 40 years ago.
