WILLOWBROOK – One person was killed and at least four others were injured Friday in a shooting in the Willowbrook area.
Deputies responded to the area of El Segundo Boulevard and San Pedro Street around 2:25 p.m. Friday to a report of shots fired, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Century Station.
Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics also responded to the location, where they took five people to a hospital — two with critical injuries and three with minor injuries, according to a department spokeswoman.
Sheriff’s officials later reported that one of the victims died at a hospital.
It was unclear what motivated the shooting, and there was no description of a suspect.
The investigation remained ongoing Friday evening.
