FULLERTON – A 67-year-old Fullerton woman was killed in a two- vehicle collision in Fullerton and police are continuing their investigation of the fatal crash Wednesday.
Fullerton Police Department officers responded at 5:11 p.m. Tuesday to South Brookhurst Road and West Oak Avenue where they learned a blue Nissan Rogue and a black GMC Sierra had been involved in the fatal collision, said Fullerton Police Department Sgt. Ryan O’Neil.
The officers investigation revealed the GMC Sierra was traveling south on Brookhurst and was being driven by a 36-year-old man from Anaheim. At the same time, the Nissan Rogue was going in the opposite direction driven by a 65-year-old Fullerton woman when the pedestrian ran eastbound from the southwest corner of the intersection across Brookhurst, police said.
The Sierra was able to yield to the pedestrian but the Rogue fatally struck the her, O’Neil said. The collision with the Nissan threw the pedestrian into the Sierra and into the intersection.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
