GRANADA HILLS – Police Wednesday are seeking to find the owners of 50 stolen luxury purses found during a search of the Granada Hills home of a woman suspected of receiving stolen property.
Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Commercial Crimes Division Major Theft Task Force served a search warrant at 6 a.m. on Nov. 1 at the home of Karla Sunceri in the 15700 block of McKeever Street, between Haskell Avenue and the San Diego (405) Freeway, police said.
Police identified Sunceri as a luxury handbag “fence,” or a person who receives or moves stolen goods. During the search, members of the task force seized 50 luxury stolen purses and a large sum of money, police said.
The investigation revealed that most of the stolen purses were taken in residential burglaries throughout Southern California, police said.
Sunceri was arrested for suspicion of receiving stolen property. She was booked at the Van Nuys Jail and later released on zero bail, police said.
Anyone with information about these thefts is asked to contact Detective Campos with the LAPD’s Commercial Crimes Division at 213-486-6958.
