BEVERLY HILLS – A man was in custody Tuesday for allegedly stabbing someone in Beverly Hills during an attempted theft, police said.
The crime occurred Monday in the 100 block of South Roxbury Drive, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.
Geovany Huerta, 20, of Los Angeles was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, and he was being held on $1 million bail, police said.
“Quick response & tech-assisted search led to the arrest,” police said in a statement. “Detectives determined that the stabbing incident stemmed from an interrupted theft of property,”
According to KTLA5, the victim was stabbed at about 3 p.m. Monday while trying to stop the theft of a child’s bicycle. The victim was in stable condition, police said.
