SANTA CLARITA – A man was killed Saturday when a vehicle struck him on his bicycle and he was run over after falling to the ground.
The crash was reported at 12:42 p.m. Saturday at Market Street and Railroad Avenue, according to Lt. Jack Jordan of the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station.
Detectives were talking to witnesses and looking for surveillance video to help determine what led to the crash, Jordan said.
The rider was pronounced dead at the scene, the lieutenant said.
A news videographer at the scene reported the bicyclist was struck by a Mini Cooper and run over by another vehicle and that both drivers remained at the scene.
